Thrilled

I cannot tell you how excited I am that I have already had a couple of comments on my tiddly little blog! I am inspired to go on with this as it obviously works!

Right then here goes:

As it was such a wet day yesterday and "indoor games" were called for I decided to bake some bread - I used to make it a lot when my daughter was a little girl and even used to make little bread mice and the children's initials and so on but I seem to have got lazy lately. I don't have a breadmaker but use my Mum's trusty old Kenwood chef.

No problems there - I mixed the dough and then put it to rise in the airing cupboard. After about an hour I gave it another whirl in the mixer and then shaped the dough into a couple of rolls and a loaf and the tray then went back in the airing cupboard for half an hour.

Popped it in the oven and set the timer then as it was such a miserable wet day I took a cup of tea into the conservatory and the noise of the rain on the conservatory roof prevented me from hearing the pinger! Oh dear - burnt bread. So had to start all over again!

Luckily this time I was concentrating properly and the results were delicious!

Only problem is it doesn't last long!

Today it was the turn of biscuits.

Much quicker to make and can be produced in less than half an hour from start to finish. Problem there is they can also be demolished in less than half an hour if you are not very, very strong willed! However these are to take to a friend tomorrow so we were very good and only had a couple with our afternoon cuppa - well you have to check that they are OK don't you?!

Do drop by for a cup of tea sometime and I will provide the biscuits to go with it!

Your bread looks delicious and so do the biscuits - enjoy your tea-time treat with your friend tomorrow!

Have a lovely evening.
