Desirable residence?

Charming lodge with original features set in beautiful countryside.

 Two main rooms - probably 8 x 8 feet and 12 x 8 feet - plus tiny kitchen - needs updating!

 Bathroom/kitchen requiring modernisation.

Roof (what roof?) needs repair but look at that sky!  It wasn't for sale but oh how I wanted it!!!

I'd want it for the sink as much as the views.

I can imagine the price.
It could be a wonderful home for one, or two very friendly and compatible people.

Perfect for the handyman and woman! Lots of atmosphere. But a little cool with the upcoming winter.

Cute post.

Ok, its a fixer upper, lol. It does have a lot of charm though. And plenty of fresh country air.

You would probably get it for a good price! ;)
It would be ok if the sky was always like that but this is the UK remember!!

Hi Jane,

I will not be showing this post to my husband. He loves a challenge :)

LOL I thought this place was bad when we came.
Oh well, I expect the estate agents will describe it as a "fixer-upper" LOL

Yes, I can definitely see its potential! It could be a very cosy little home with a bit of work!! I always imagine old fallen down cottages as they would have been originally, even if there are only a few bricks left...they do have a special charm and nostalgia.
Hope you're enjoying this sunny week.

Oh yes! I love it too. Like something out of a fairytale - you will fall asleep there and it will be magically transformed into a palace of a place . . .

Isn't it funny the way that sometimes a ruin will just spark the imagination? That happens with me too. "Potential" indeed!!!!! :)

Was it on the walk from Beer to Branscombe? Looks lovely - especially the outside sink!

Well, I swear your posts didn't appear on my blog yesterday - you're one I look out for! Now two to enjoy. Love this - now my place doesn't look so bad!

Do you write fiction, Jane? The cottage would make a good story starter, something to base a whole series of characters around, perhaps from different historical times. Do you know the series by Norah Lofts which follows the history of a house/inn through the ages? Published 1960s, 1970s.

what a dream house

Yes, clearl sleeping beauty potential. Are you Sleeping Beauty? Please say yes; a girl needs to dream.

My music teacher, when looking for a house, used to march into estates agents where she lives by the sea in Normandy and ask to see their ramshackle ruins file.

You are not alone.
