Ever since the day we went to the RSPCA, to see if there were any cats needing a home, as we had a vacancy, and Tom climbed up my sleeve to my shoulder and meowed in my ear saying "Take me home with you" he has been my special baby!! As a kitten I think he thought I was his mother as he used to lie curled up on my lap and suck his own tummy whilst kneading his paws as cats do. He did grow out of sucking himself rather as a child grows out of sucking its thumb but he still comes to me for a cuddle and he just has to be loved.

He is a master of relaxation and can make himself comfortable anywhere. Look how his little toes curl with happiness!

Such a trusting little animal - tummy all ready for a rub! Try it with his sister and you'd get your hand bitten but Thomas rarely bites or scratches and then only if I overdo the play and he forgets I am not actually another cat!!

I went up to London as planned yesterday and met my friends at the Garden Museum in Lambeth just across the river from where all the student protests were taking place. I don't have any photos but am hoping one of the friends will e-mail me some of hers and I can show you later.
aHave a good weekend and many thanks to all those of you who have commented on my previous posts.
Oh, he's adorable! My sister's kitten adopted a small red dressing gown as a substitute mother, and sucked the belt loops all her long and otherwise mature life...
ReplyDeleteHe is so sweet. He looks as if he's watching his tail in the last picture, waiting for it do something so he can attack it!
ReplyDeleteHe makes me wish I wasn't allergic to cats.
ReplyDeletePets really enrich your life don't they? I love the way cats sleep in the most interesting places and always manage to find a sunny spot.
ReplyDeleteI'm eagerly wait for the photos of the Garden museum. Must try to Google it.
Cheers
Helen
He's gorgeous, such handsome markings, my boy curls up his toes too, it looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky both my babies let me scratch their tummies.
What a great photo of him snuggled up on the window sill.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely weekend.
The Garden museum sounds interesing. Looking forward to seeing some photo's of it. Great to see some Spring like photo's!
ReplyDeleteI had a black and white Thomas! He was a rescue kitten as well and was the most wonderful cat ever. I was devastated when he died. Many years ago now in a previous life. My hubby doesn't like cats unfortunately so I can't imagine I will ever have another. I think that is why I now have a huge soft spot for black and white animals.
ReplyDeleteHe's a sweet little cat! I understand what you mean about the the behaviour of him and hi sister. We used to have two cats, Pickle would only tolerate being patted for a few seconds before she would take a swipe at you, but Pepper would lie there for ages getting patted and her tummy rubbed! :) x
ReplyDeletePets in general, and cats especially have a way of finding a way into our hearts. I havene't had a b&w one but the girl I shared a house with adopted a stray b&w kitten who we called Cuboid. He managed to give my cat, and then my sister's 3 cats (who I was visiting for Christmas, before I realised) cat flu - all got it and all survived, but imagine the vet bills!!
ReplyDeleteI need to kick out my allergic man... swap him for a cat ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Jane dear,
ReplyDeleteOooooh, I heard about the protests. I was shocked that Prince Charles and C. were attacked in their car.
Yes, the Garden Museum IS an oasis in more ways than that. Is the Dutch Wave still there? I loved eating in the restaurant there too.
Sending sunshine your way,

Oh, he is a handsome boy! Gorgeous, I would love to give him a hug. :)

Oh Tom has stolen my heart too - what a sweetie! He seems very much like my Bobbi - and not only in looks! Bobbi is a big girl but she is as soft as butter!!! Jess does the same thing! She climbs up my arm and drapes herself around my shoulders - so cute.
ReplyDeleteIt was their lucky day when you walked into the RSPCA centre Jane.

Oh look at him, just waiting to have his tummy rubbed.......... I think he is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat I wouldn't give to be able to relax like that....Lesley x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cat! He sounds wonderful. I hope you are keeping well Jane and that you didn't have too much snow!
ReplyDeleteLucy xxxxxxx
He's a beautiful cat, he obviously knows how to make himself comfortable. Hope you enjoyed the garden museum.
ReplyDeleteHello again Jane, thank you for your comments on my blog. I had a lot of help from my mum with the crocheted items on my stall and any spare time that I got, i spent mainly on doing the bead ornaments and jewellery. i am a very slow crocheter! Love your frost photos!

What a sweetie!!! I just love it when they roll over for a tummy rub.
ReplyDeleteI would have to concur that Tom is simply terrific! I did see the student protests on the news. I understood it as you pay high taxes in exchange for free college? The new costs sounded quite steep! I'm not sure I blame the protesters. Just loved your comment about my new man--had a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteHe's great isn't he? I had a lovely cat who used to lie across my shoulders as I walked around, ironed etc.
ReplyDeleteoh, he is gorgeous!! =^.^=
ReplyDeleteand such a lovely story.
i too have found my boy cats are gentler than the girls.
