Yesterday I went to the Country Living Fair - I am sure there will be many more interesting posts on this event than mine so suffice it to say it was a great day out though tiring. I left home on the 8.00 am coach and returned at 9.30 pm. My feet have recovered now but they were telling me enough was enough when I got back! It's a small world isn't it as I bumped into a lady I knew from my Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers days back when I lived in Guildford a long time ago - she was wisely sitting having a cup of tea!
The coach was full and it seemed that half of us were off to the CL Fair and many of the rest to the Ideal Home Show. It was obvious that a lot of the passengers on the return journey had been to the CL Fair judging by the bags we were carrying and one passenger (obviously not a CL lover) was heard to say "They all live in the country so why they have to come up to London to see how to do it beats me"!!! True but a day out garnering ideas is always a welcome change isn't it?
Glad you had a good day out. these sort of things do tell on the feet don't they? :-)

Oh Jane,
ReplyDeleteI do envy you a trip to the CL Fair. I've been a subscriber for more years than I care to remember but I have never organised myself to get to either the Spring or Christmas Fair. Have just read your comment for me and hear that I would have seen maps used in a special way! Maybe next year? Glad you had a lovely time - but I don't envy you the aching feet. Ouch! Lesley x
I wonder if we passed each other yesterday!! We got there early and managed to get round without too much fuss, by the time we left it was heaving!
ReplyDeleteFunny comment to overhear! Of course the strap line on the mag is 'when your heart is in the country', and I think lots of readers probably don't read a truly 'country' life - I only do half of the time - the rest of the time I work in suburban Toulouse! I would have LOVED to have joined you at the fair...
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of the country Living Fair before but it looks very interesting! Glad you had an enjoyable day out.

'oh' you lucky thing - the Country Living Fair....I wish!
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'm going to just jump right on the train when the event takes place - I will, I will.....one day - or year, that is!

Oh Jane, lucky you going to the Country Living Fair! It's one of those things that I always mean to get around to, but somehow it never quite happens! Maybe the Christmas one!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Dan
Looks like a great day out - now you can put your feet up and enjoy your mag.
ReplyDeleteI love a day out like that.... from the coach trip to the aching feet.... it makes for a lovely thing to remember. What a treat for you! :O)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fab day out!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky thing Jane. I've been buying CL magazine for 20 years now but have never been to one of their shows. I know!! Perhaps I'll organise myself for next year's Spring Fair. Did you buy any goodies?

Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteSounds like your daughter is getting around a bit . Hope she is enjoying her holiday in Oz. Is she just visiting Brisbane for a short visit or is she hoping to find work and stay a while.
The weather is still pretty warm and the days sunny which I imagine she is enjoying. Hope she finds the people friendly.
cheers
Helen
Hello Jane, I have now completed my "busy, busy" post. I am sorry that I had not completed it when you "visited". Thank you for always leaving a comment, I enjoy hearing from you.

I had a lovely day out at a Market on Sunday. I also got to make friends with a lovely Greyhound, & buy some wonderful Pamper Pooch Soap, so it was worth a visit.
