Toilets!

I haven't been around Blogland much this past week as we have had friends visiting. I have lots of photos to sort through if you would like to see some of the places we visited but for now here are a few toilets!

We came across this sign at Salisbury Cathedral! Not only the lady who has lost her head this time Lesley!

When I took this photo I didn't know it was the back of the toilets at Ford Abbey! Lovely eh?

The entrance to the Gents is under the wisteria somewhere!

Here is the Ladies - I love gates and doors and this one really took my fancy!

The view from inside the Ladies - good isn't it?

And here is one I inadvertently took of me taking a photo of the lovely tiles in the washbasin area!
I hope to find time between now and when our next visitors arrive at the weekend to edit my other photos so let me know if you'd like to join me on our outings.

  1. That's what I call a loo with a view. The wisteria seems to have taken over in the other place. I've lived in Salisbury and I'm sure everyone there had their heads well screwed on..

  2. You could do a whole book of Toilets Around Britain. I'm sure there are lots more quirky ones as well as some very picturesque ones around the country.

  3. So how do these compare to the toilets you knew and survived in France, Jane? Any post I did about recent visits to public toilets would be a bit different...

  6. Hi Jane
That sign is so funny - I wonder if they've stopped putting heads on on purpose, or whether there is someone out there with a strange penchant for nipping off with them...
Those have got to be the nicest public toilets I have ever seen!

  9. I love the tiling and the door on those loos, very impressive, but I wonder what the lady next to you thought when you whipped out the camera. You should see our local offering, perish the thought!

  10. Those are very attractive loos Jane! Love the door and the tiling. I have come across some wonderful ones on my travels and have often thought about photographing them but talked myself out of it. I will not be so reticent next time I see a photogenic one!

  11. Hmmm... toilets. Never thought of taking photos of them. Lovely tile, and you captured the toilet tissue perfectly! Ditto about the other half-lady in your mirror photo--or was it your friend? I understand the public toilets in France are unisex? I really don't care for those when I find them in the United States--usually in a gas (petrol)station. Men seem to be 'messier' than women when it comes to the toilet use. Yech! Oh, the gardens were pretty!

  12. You obviously go to a better class of loo than I do! I wonder about those headless signs.... beautiful wisteria photo though. Look forward to seeing more soon. Lesley x
