Joining in with Emma at Silver Pebble's idea here I am posting a colourful photo of my scarf drawer. The idea is to post once each month a cheerful colourful photo which it is hoped will help us through the dark winter days (sorry about this Antipodean friends!) and done once each month it means it will be only 4 more posts till Spring!! (Apparently there is also a Flikr group for such photos but that is all way too tekkie for me)
Must say though it isn't just colour that I miss but LIGHT! How different things look when lit by sunlight - we all know how difficult it is to get a decent photo on dull dark days don't we?! But now that it is dark by 5.00 - or even earlier on a wet day - every little helps as they say!!

Oh, light! How I miss it today! It's been foggy in the mornings lately but by noon at the latest it got sunny; not today though.
ReplyDeleteI like your colourful drawer; mine looks like that at home. I've brought only a few here.

the colours are beautiful even for us antipodeans! Hope your daughter is enjoying our spring weather,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your gorgeous pic. I'm not a dark night lover so anything that brightens the day really helps. :-)

Lovely splash of colour. I wish I could wear scarves but they are just too hot for me here in Queensland. I took one to France with me though so I could try to be stylish in gay Paris!
ReplyDeleteWe Antipodeans will try to brighten up your dull days if you will promise to cool us off with your snowy photos like last year's.
Cheers
Helen
PS Hope your daughter is not swimming with those sharks in WA!!
I love your colourful scarves, they are perfect for the splash of colour series. I must look for something colourful to photograph too! Hope you have a lovely day, despite the early darkness.

Your scarves are gorgeous colours. I remember back in July in the height of our dull, cold rainy winter, thinking of anything I could do to lift my mood which was also dull as winter. I injected as much colour as I could by buying the occasional bunch of flowers. There was nothing in my garden. I also bought some really bright out there coffee mugs and lit candles during the day to lift my spirits. I was reading blogs from people in the northern hemisphere enjoying their summer and I was so envious but also really appreciated the lovely posts of people on holidays and seeing sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find something to brighten your days.

It's lovely to see all this colour on blogs at the moment. A great idea but you're so right about missing the light Jane. On Monday night th difference was so swift from Sunday - dark at 5.00pm! I hear we may go ahead by 2 hours in Spring and then stop this clock changing all together. How confusing it all is. Thanks for the injection of colour though! Lesley x
ReplyDeleteI love those beautiful bright colours Jane. It looks as if we share a scarf fetish - I'm never without one! Thank you for this very welcome splash of colour!

Wonderful colourful scarves!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a good idea of Emma's. Not only can we enjoy everyone elses colour we have to make the effort to go and find some. We'll be so busy looking for colour during the winter, spring will be upon us before we know it!
Seven weeks from yesterday is the shortest day and the days will start to lengthen again, seven weeks is nothing!

I couldn't agree more - a bit of colour in whatever form will hopefully help! Only 4 more colour blogs till Spring, I'll hold onto that thought!
ReplyDeletegood idea...do you mind if I borrow it? At the moment it is light and bright here in Ontario, for most of the short day.
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how many times I photographed my contribution because of lack of light....... Love your "take" on it..... :O)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I miss the sunlight too :-( Just posted my colours on my blog.
ReplyDeleteOh I so need light as well. Did get out a bit today as the sun was shining through the trees this morning and looked lovely. But by mid afternoon it seems all light is gone. So lovely to see a splash of colour. Fortunately my photo assignment this week is colour so I am trying to find colour everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love colour! It always seems such a shock, when it's suddenly dark and dull midway through the day at this time of year, even though it happens every year....
ReplyDeleteLovely colourful picture to start your post! I thought I had a alot of scarves, I love them!
ReplyDeleteI always crave the dark nights, I like to be all bundled up at home after work with the fire on! Though it does get boring after months and months of it! At least we can all look forward to colour on everones blogs,

Lovely colours, just what's needed at this time of year. Do you have a favourite scarf?
ReplyDeleteYour scarf drawer is a wonderful riot of colour Jane, I hope you choose a bright one to wear on each dull day!
ReplyDeleteLovely splash of colour, your scarfs are so pretty! I've not had a chance to take any pics yet, need to get round to it today, maybe it will be light enough to take some pics when I get home. I'll look for colour inside too! :) x
ReplyDeleteThe colours in the Cotswolds and similar areas have been stunning - as well as your scarves! I've just had an Australian visitor who could not believe the autumn in Middle England.
ReplyDeleteBut she was so lucky with the weather!
Beautiful scarves. They look very tactile. Thank you for the positive comments on my blog. They are very encouraging.
ReplyDeleteGreat splash of colour ... scarves are great to add colour to the day!
ReplyDeleteLove Kathy xxx
Lovely scarves - how nice to open a drawer and see that!

Hello Jane. SO sorry to be so late coming over. What a week! These scarves are so so cheering aren't they? How beautiful to have them stashed away. Just one peep and I would feel better about the lack of light.
