Horsepower!

Just back from a trip to the supermarket - this chap (or maybe it was a female I didn't look that closely being so surprised to see him) was tied to a post in the little shopping precinct near the supermarket and as I took these pics his/her owner came along with his bag of shopping ready for the homeward journey! That "sack" was a big cushion so presumably the seat isn't that comfortable.
Not sure why the flag was flying today - Guy Fawkes Night do you think?!

Bad hair day? The owner also had hair to match and a big leather hat!!

This was the view from just outside the supermarket door - fields and trees in the autumn sunshine. I know why I love living here!!!

  2. I'm just catching up with yesterdays post. I must be feeling stressed as I actually shouted out as she was pulled towards the cliff edge. Am I losing my grip on reality I ask myself! Great video!

  6. Seeing that horse would have made my day! How brilliant and what a lovely town you must live in. The view is amazing and isn't it wonderful that such things as a view or a horse can bring so much joy?
    Have a lovely day!

  8. How wonderful to have one horse power to go shopping. Along with daydreams of a three wheeler bicycle with a basket on the front I have one of a pony and trap for getting about the village.... it costs nowt to dream!

  12. I found your blog via Pipany (and couldn't resist a blog called Marigold Jam!) What lovely photographs of the pony and cart. I have pony and cart and have fantasies of doing the school run with it - maybe one day.

Thanks for your interest in my etching - here is a link to my earlier posting when I explain (a bit) about the process http://jilltaylor-thirdagemusings.blogspot.com/2009/10/invitation-to-see-my-etchings.html

  17. Oh, I think the horse is adorable. Too bad you didn't get a snap of the owner (though I guess that would have been rude...). He sounds like an interesting fellow!

  20. That was neat to see... I would have liked to have petted the horse. That would be fun to ride in the carriage--like you said, 'horsepower'! Thanks for showing some views of your area, I liked taking a peek.
