To laugh often and much,
To appreciate beauty,
To find the best in others,
to leave the world a bit better...
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived,
That is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wise words don't you think? I am so often guilty of comparing myself with others and finding myself lacking but maybe, just maybe I am more successful than I think!
Having problems getting Blogger to space the text as I wish - sorry it's a bit cramped.
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend Do pop over to Living in the Limousin if you have a moment as I have posted there too!
Wise words indeed - and the spacing looks fine from where I'm sitting! Post your Giveaway on Friday so hopefully it will be with you soon!

That's very positive thinking - I like it! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour hydrangeas remind me of the lovely ones we saw in Brittany this summer - mine are all pink :(
When I have problems with spacing I put in a letter where I want a line gap and just colour it the background colour. I'm sure it's cheating but it usualy works...
A fine quote Jane and so true, I always think that if we take care of, and consider others, it makes us better and happier people. Something worth striving for indeed.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good weekend! Jeanne x
Fine words indeed. Blogger just does that to line spacing sometimes............. These things are sent to try us..............
ReplyDeletewise words indeed, thank you for your king comment and yes i have changed the background.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely week ahead.

I like that and agree with Ralph Waldo Emerson.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be reminded, especially at the moment as things like the news can be all so negative.
As you say, it's easy to compare ourselves to others and to wish for this and for that and forget to think about all the good things we actually going for us.
I hope that you had a good weekend

I have hardly any confidence these days....was struggling to put together a job app this morning, was hard, not sure if I can do the job....but then I read this poem and it gave me some hope...cheers...xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wise words! I think we should all print that and put it up on the wall so that we see it every day.
ReplyDeleteI'm following a bit behind reading about your life in France but I'll pop over now to have a (quick I'm afraid) look.
Take Care!
Very wise words indeed and inspiring too.

Good morning and thank you for sharing those wise words of Emerson with me this morning! We all need to be reminded to go easy on ourselves once in a while...to stop and appreciate the beauty about us...and to be kind. Your hydrangeas are beautifully blue! Have a wonderful day and thanks for the good start to mine! :) Laura
