Here is a little basket containing some knitted hearts I have made.
I wanted something quick and easy to make that I could make enough of to give one each to my City and Guilds Textile friends when we meet up for our Christmas get together and lunch at the end of November.
I started out trying to make little tree decorations - crochet cotton on size 14 needles and decorated with a knitted rose....
.......but my dexterity is not what it was and neither is my eyesight and the thought of making more of these was just too daunting so hearts it was!
What do you think of them? Will my friends like them or wonder what on earth I was thinking of?
I think they're lovely - the texture makes a great change from a sewn heart.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning Liz's giveaway!
I love those knitted hearts, I wish I was more of a knitter, sigh.
ReplyDeleteThose hearts are really lovely - I think your friends will be really pleased to receive such lovely presents. I have made some knitted hearts with a little bit of lavender in the middle before - they are also a good way to use up odd scraps of yarn.

ReplyDeleteAs for the photos, I have clicked on customize>layout>edit HTML>widgets<(somewhere on the top of the page)..by changing that, I have been able to get a new photos uploader, from which you can choose the size, the resolution and the position you want the photos to have.I hope I have been clear enough! But if you have any doubts, don't hesitate and contact me again!
Take care,
Annalisa

Have a great day. Jeanne x
Great idea, and actually, I like the red one with the word ribbon on it, the most. It's very 'simple' and striking.
ReplyDeleteI knit hearts a lot, love them, and the fact you can use different wools in a heart to get that patchwork effect you get with fabric. And of course you can embellish with ribbons, buttons and so on. They are SO easy, aren't they? But effective too. I like craft projects like that!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the hearts and so will your friends!!! x
ReplyDeleteYour friends would love them! I'd much prefer a heart than the Christmas decoration for the simple reason that I could enjoy it all year round.
ReplyDeleteI love them, too. And I think your friends will. Like Yiota says, they can be displayed all year round. =)
ReplyDeleteIf only I could learn how to knit...beautiful hearts!

I just love them all!!
